Last night on Drop Dead Diva the theme was trying to get the new Jane to move forward with her life and stop looking back. What's past is past and she can't go back. It was Jane's birthday, of course Deb did not know that. When she found out Jane was turning 32, and Deb was only 24, she felt robbed of those years. If you don't watch the show, this will be so confusing, sorry!
In studying history one learns the value of learning history is so history will not be repeated. I think I might have over applied this in my thinking. I am always so cautious about my mistakes, that I think I spend too much time looking back. In looking back, I never forgive myself of the bad choices I have made even though God is quick to forgive when I ask. He says He will put the our sins as far as the east is from the west. So why can't I do that for myself. No! I have to replay the thing in its misery over and over and over until I deem myself as worthless! In addition to cheating myself out of joy and happiness of living for today.
This week, I am going to change. Let the past be the past and live for right now! The joy, the tears, the right choices and the mistakes will be just that, TODAY-right now moments!
One thing God understands and I have a hard time with it, I am still His child growing everyday!

Beyond Expectations!
God is so Great and Good!
And we are here to give testimony that He is alive and well and living in the hearts of Christians. Some folks we know, who were entitled to any feelings they wanted, today showed forgiveness and presented the loving and forgiving Christ-like nature! Amen!
Here we are on this earth for a time and we each day we choose who we will serve; As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Lord, thank you for your written word to help us get thru the low points. Thank you for others around us to help us see you. Mostly thank you for your Son, who suffered and died to show us the way.....
Keep the faith, He is near and He hears!

Bucket List
Well to start, I haven't seen the Bucket List movie (I think that is the name of it). But we were watching this tv show and [.. well actually it was about this guy about to be put to death by lethal injection....] Slick and I started talking about things, bucket list type of things.
(Now don't take any of this wrong or as bragging cause I am really asking for your opinions.)
We said that we are not good travelers. We have traveled but neither one of us has any desire to go anywhere. Is there something wrong with us? We know folks who are going here, doing this and that but we just don't have any desires to go any where. Nor can we come up with something we would like to do or accomplish or any place we would rather live.
Sky diving? He is afraid of heights and I would puke on the plane of motion sickness. Trip to Mexico, been there, we had a mega fight there after we both had drank tequila! Disney World, been there too, twice! Travel out of the country? Slick says with my mouthy opinions, I would get us shot the first day! And did I mention why we don't like to travel? If the water does not set off diarrhea then the motion sickness will induce horrid vomiting, and poor Slick has to take care of me. Yeah, no FUN! If he sits too long then his hip makes him completely miserable and unable to move. Finish that off with he is not a good eater, pretty much beef and tatters kinda guy.
Of course, we would like to see grandchildren and watch them grow, but we were narrowing the list to only places to go or things we would want to accomplish or places to live. Oh yeah, and we knocked out debt as we figure that might follow us around until 'the time.'
Granted that this was all light hearted and neither of us was drunk or drinking, but we could not think of one darn thing to put on a bucket list!
Are we already at 'the time' and no one told us? Or just primed for being grouchy old people?

Spider Monkeys
I was reading in a book called "Sunset with God" about spider monkeys. From the story I gather that spider monkeys are quick and tiny. People were trying to capture them with tranquilizer guns and nets to no avail. Soon they discovered that by placing a peanut in a narrow mouth bottle they could capture the spider monkey. How, you ask. The monkey would reach in to grab the peanut and could not pull his hand out while grasping the peanut. Nor could he move as the bottle weight would be more than the monkey's weight! Even if there was a pile of peanuts on the ground right there beside the monkey, he would not let go of that one peanut!
Last night when Slick and I went home, we were beat down to our knees by a situation that we have no control over nor were we apart of creating. But it threatens our spiritual refuge. Looking for comfort, reassurance or any kind of hope only netted a brick wall. The kids came in and our spirits were so low we could not be consoled.
Maybe we were like the spider monkey, holding on so tight and forgetting to let God have this problem that has the potential of bringing such destruction to our spiritual lives. We were stubbornly clinging to the only thing we could see; that 'humans' very seldom forgive as we ourselves are so guilty of doing. By letting go and letting God have complete control over this situation at least for us, we reclaim our peace and joy spiritually.
"Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14

well I was very nervous about VBS, because I know kids can smell fear and I was afraid, Very Afraid! I just knew they were going to eat me alive! Part of my fear was caused by the fact that I did not think anyone would be there to help me. But thankfully, some teenage girls came to my rescue early on and then later Margaret and Anne showed up to help. The first night went well and I am not so nervous about tonight.
I still have the feeling that VBS has run its season. I am so sad for that. Such happy memories for myself as well as my children and dreams that the grand kids would enjoy those same things. Time changes, it stands still for no one or nothing. For now I am praying that God will inspire us with a new idea to reach kids. If there is one thing that is needed for children now, it is Jesus Christ. Faith, Hope and Love are not prevalent in many young peoples lives today.
Corey and Bailey have announced they are pregnant! Yay! We are so happy. The little one should arrive in late January. They will be going to the doctor on Monday, June 29th.
One last thought, how will kids learn about God and serving Him if Mom and Dad don't take them to Church when they are young?
I am not on my saop box.. just thinking out loud.....

Nothing like a good Sunday service to put peace in your heart. The preacher preached about going to heaven and the urgency to share Jesus Christ with others. I intend to tell others about my Savior Jesus but I left church services knowing that I have Jesus in my heart! Whew, one less thing I don't have to worry about! Have you accepted Christ as your Savior? Don't wait, do it now!
The beauty about this weekend, even though I worked on Saturday, I have had some down time, which I needed.
Be safe and happy!

I heard something the other day that tugged at my heart; Stolen Moments.
On Friday, we had supper with Keely, Rhea and Haskell. Haskell heard the music over the intercom and she started dancing around. I laughed! On Sunday, I was feeding Hudson. He would open his mouth so wide that I couldn't help myself from laughing! I consider those my stolen moments! To me 'stolen moments' are times when laughter comes unexpectedly!
Look for your stolen moment, today!
